Bounty Program: Why Lyon and Healy is still leader of the pack

For anyone that's ever considered pursuing harp, whether casually or professionally, have at one point and time experienced sticker shock at some point in their harping life.  It's no secret that harps are relatively expensive instruments and very expensive to get started in but Lyon and Healy helps ease this with their Bounty Program.  Their Bounty Program is a fantastic way for students to start on a quality instrument and then later upgrade when the time has come.  In my opinion this is not stressed enough when potential students are looking for harps to purchase.  Harpists may choose from a variety of harps to suit their playing tastes and budget.  They may choose from the Ogden, Troubador (a long standing favorite for beginning harpists), Prelude, Chicago Petite, and the 85GP. The harpist my trade in any of the listed harps within five years of purchase and the full purchase price of that harp will be applied to the purchase of a new pedal harp-it's money in the bank!!  There are a few stipulations which can easily be met: you must be the original owner of the harp, harp must be in good condition, must make the purchase within five years, and best of all customers are allowed two trade-ins!!  The great news about that is a beginning harpist could purchase the 85GP for $15,000 have five years to save up money and trade it in for a larger harp down the road.  I wish I had taken advantage of this fantastic program when I purchased my harps, but I was unaware of it at the time.  The biggest advantage to this program by far, is the fact that you simply trade the harp in and get the full purchase price you originally paid for.  No placing classified ads, no sending countless emails with pictures attached, no haggling with potential customers, and best of all: not getting scammed.

I encourage all of my students to explore this avenue when it comes time to purchase a harp.  Lyon and Healy harps have long been the standard harp for professional harpists worldwide.  The bounty program at Lyon and Healy makes purchasing a pedal harp a reality for many.
